Recently we have been getting some phone calls from Spire customers about the new version of Firefox not playing nice. One of the complaints has been that when trying to view a PDF file from the CMS instead of a new tab opening to show you the PDF and the URL that you can copy, it was bringing up the Adobe reader to show you the PDF.
I found out that with the new Firefox update there is a built-in PDF viewer. But thankfully, we are able to change it and get rid of that viewer. In order to work with a PDF for the websites we need to be able to grab the URL of the PDF and that isn’t very easy using Firefox’s new method.
Turns out it’s really an easy fix, and only takes a couple minutes. Those are my favorite kind of problems 🙂 It is the same process for both a Mac and a PC, but will look a little different. So I included links for both!
