If the success of your small business depends on driving visitors through your door, you should try Facebook’s “Local Awareness” ads.  Local Awareness is a fairly new type of ad that targets visitors based on their location when they are online. It can be quite useful for local businesses, especially retail business.

With “Local Awareness” ads, you can target only people who are within 1 mile from your business.  You can then display your ads on their desktop or mobile devices, but I’d suggest focusing on mobile.   This will be a great way to suggest that somebody swing by for a cup of coffee at your coffee shop, or promote better gas prices at your gas station.

Local awareness ads can even include a “Get Directions” link so that visitors can figure out how to find you once they are close.

If your success depends on getting people to walk through your door, Local Awareness Ads will be a great way to do that.
